Administrative Registered Nurse (RN)
Full-Time | Skilled Nursing Facility
We are seeking an experienced Administrative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team in a skilled nursing setting. This position is designed to support both clinical operations and staff education, with responsibilities tailored to facility needs. The role may function in staff development, charge nurse oversight, or a blended administrative capacity.
This is primarily a weekday, daytime position, with flexibility to support other shifts as operational needs require.

Position Overview
The Administrative RN works collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to support regulatory compliance, clinical oversight, staff education, quality initiatives, and daily nursing operations. This role provides leadership support to nursing staff while ensuring high standards of resident care and regulatory readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Operations
- Support daily nursing operations in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Administrator
- Provide oversight of resident care and initiate corrective actions as needed
- Conduct resident, unit, and environmental rounds
- May function as Charge Nurse overseeing total nursing activities when required
- Assist with staffing coordination, nursing schedules, and coverage
- Monitor infection control and safety practices
- Report and follow up on changes in resident conditions
- Complete risk management reports, investigations, and Department of Health reporting
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary coordination
- Perform direct resident care as necessary to ensure resident safety
- Coordinate and track nursing and CNA education, competencies, and required training
- Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding support
- Provide hands-on training, mentoring coordination, and follow-up for new hires
- Perform skills validation, medication pass audits, and competency evaluations
- Plan and conduct in-services and educational programs
- Assist with CPR, medication administration, diabetics, and other required certifications
- Support staff retention through education, coaching, and engagement
- Support compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in QAPI activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with survey preparation and follow-up
- Audit nursing documentation, clinical records, and care practices
- Ensure resident rights are upheld
- Collaborate with leadership on policy review and updates
- Counsel and educate nursing staff with DON/Administrator support
- Assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary processes
- Work collaboratively with Human Resources on staff-related concerns
- Respond to resident, family, or physician concerns and initiate follow-up
- Promote effective working relationships across departments
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care strongly preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for skilled nursing facilities
- Experience with staff education, audits, or charge nurse duties preferred
- PointClickCare (PCC) experience a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Skilled nursing / long-term care setting
- Collaborative leadership team
- Strong focus on quality, compliance, and staff support
