General Summary:

6A is an Acuity Adaptable floor at our Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford Delaware. Patients on 6A enjoy private rooms, is very well equipped, clean and organized. 6A is a 24 bed unit where the acuity ranges from Med Surg to Intermediate Care and receives a variety of patients including Neuro and Neuro like conditions.

The Collegiate Nursing Care Technician (CCT) position at Bayhealth is designed for student nurses in a nursing program who have successfully completed at least one semester of a medical/surgical clinical rotation. The position is year-round and offers exposure and experience in an acute care setting, preparing candidates for a career as a professional nurse. The CCT position is similar to the certified nurse assistant with duties including basic patient care, vital signs, blood glucose testing, hygiene, assistance with ADL’s and comfort measures, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Department team members are authorized to have limited access to secured medication rooms to perform duties and responsibilities as defined in this job description. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non-Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
