Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking an exceptional RN Manager to join our team and lead the Women’s Services Units, Labor and Delivery (L&D), Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery. In this role you will work closely with the women’s services director to motivate, mentor, champion and support your team to provide patient-centered direct nursing care to delivering mothers, acting as a mother’s guide through her stay, and to their healthy newborn infants. What you will do in this role:

  • As a RN Manager, you will work collaboratively with the director to manage day-to-day clinical operations of the units, assuring quality care is delivered to our patients.
  • You will participate in staff personnel management activities including interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training new employees, counselling and evaluating staff performance, and scheduling and employee rounding.
  • Coordinating with the director you will ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, governmental and organizational standards, including quality metrics (Core Measures and HCAHPS).
  • You will maintain cultural and diversity awareness on employee and patient rounding, and whenever dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers, and support your staff to do so as well.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
  • 2 years of current nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting in which leadership and management abilities have been demonstrated.
  • 3 years of current experience in nursing with participation in formal leadership role(s) (e.g. Charge Nurse) and activities (e.g. Nurse Practice Council) preferred.
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • AHWONN Fetal Monitoring.
