2020 Annual Assembly Call for abstracts & SIG Endorsement

Fort Worth, TX
The Fort Worth - Dallas Regional Chapter HPNA

Good Afternoon,

Earlier this week, AAHPM and HPNA officially opened the Call for Abstracts for the 2020 Annual Assembly in San Diego.  It is hard to believe the 2019 event in Orlando just ended, and the 2020 conference preparation is already underway.  If you are planning to submit an abstract for the 2020 Annual Assembly, please considering seeking SIG endorsement for you session.  Although requesting SIG endorsement is an optional step, the inclusion of more SIG-endorsed sessions provides closer program alignment with nursing topics and HPNA priorities.  Authors wishing to submit an abstract for a 1 hour concurrent session may seek an endorsement by utilizing the following guidelines.

SIG Endorsed Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • One (1) hour sessions to allow SIGs to provide education within their area of interest and expertise.
  • It is expected that the primary author of the abstract proposal request SIG endorsement from the Chair of the SIG.
  • Request for endorsement must reach the SIG Chair at least five (5) business days prior to the close of the first call (May 1st) to be considered for endorsement.
  • Email your abstract to the appropriate SIG Chair and HPNA national office (hpna@hpna.org) for consideration.
  • A full listing of HPNA SIG Chairs is attached to this email for your convenience.
  • Once you have been endorsed by a SIG, please submit the abstract to AAHPM by the deadline of May 1, 2019 at Noon PT.
  • Endorsement does not guarantee automatic acceptance for presentation.
  • Each SIG may elect to endorse up to three (3) abstract submissions.
  • SIGs may only endorse one hour sessions and may not endorse preconference workshops, plenary speakers, papers, cases or posters.
  • An average of 48 percent of abstracts are typically selected for presentation during the Assembly.

HPNA strongly encourages its SIG members to fully participate in the Annual Assembly process.  We hope you will consider submitting an abstract to your respective SIGs for a potential endorsement.  Thank you everyone.  If you have any questions, just let us know.  We would be happy to assist you.

Thanks everyone,
