Purpose

            In honor of 2020 being the “Year of the Nurse,” NYSANA and the ANA-NY were planning to have a joint lobby day in May, during “National Nurses Month,” to celebrate this special event. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and these unprecedented times, this plan has changed. Although we can’t be at the New York State Capitol in person, May 6-12, during “National Nurses Week,” we can still make our voices heard.

In fact, given the spotlight that the COVID-19 pandemic has put on frontline providers, and in particular nurses, it is more important than ever that we share our stories.  We also want to acknowledge and highlight the heroic work being done by our members.  Therefore, we are going to be holding a virtual lobby day, during National Nurses Week, on May 6, 2020, in honor of the “Year of the Nurse,” and our members.
