Preliminary research shows that the specific shot could cut transmission by nearly two-thirds, while a single dose of the vaccine is 76% effective at preventing COVID-19. The U.S., meanwhile, has reached an important milestone in its fight against the virus, with more Americans receiving at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine than testing positive for the disease.
