At the end of June, nurse and healthcare attorney Lynn Böes retired from the practice of law.
Lynn is a licensed nurse and lawyer who practiced health law, with an emphasis on helping long-term care facilities, home health agencies, nurses, and other health care personnel.
As a nurse and health care administrator, Lynn encountered difficulties getting the help she needed to serve her patients and she vowed to get the power she needed to make change happen. While raising her three children, Lynn went back to school to study law and became an attorney.
In her legal practice, Lynn provided excellent counsel to health care facilities as they navigated complex regulatory requirements and worked for success in patient care. She also represented individual providers (nurses, social workers, doctors, counselors) in investigations, administrative appeals, and disciplinary actions. Lynn took significant joy from helping care providers defend themselves when facing investigatory bodies that do not fully understand the health care system.
Health law attorney Susan Freed said, “Lynn is an example of someone who truly would drop everything for a client and be happy to do it. This also extended to her colleagues. Regardless of what else she had going on – either professionally or personally- she really did always have time for me and my questions.”
Employment and health lawyer Jo Ellen Whitney said, “No one is better than Lynn at making you feel like you’re her number one priority. She is bright, focused, and talented but the thing that stands out most is her compassion for her clients and all of those she comes into contact with.”
