Happy Nurses Week!

Denver, CO
The Rocky Mountain PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association

Dear RMPANA members,

Did you think you would be a Perianesthesia nurse when you started your career?  Someone likely inspired you, or a mentor encouraged you on your career path as a nurse.  Now it’s your turn to be that person for someone else.  Regardless of what capacity you practice in your nursing career; be it at the bedside, education, leadership, or management, it’s important to reflect on how you got to where you are in your career and how you can give back to the next generation and our profession. Perhaps it’s taking time to precept or being a mentor for a new nurse in your department, or serving on a professional board such as RMPANA.

Currently, we have formal and informal opportunities available with differing time commitments.  Your RMPANA Board of Directors are looking for fresh, new ideas to meet the needs of our ever-expansive and growing membership.  Not only will you be part of a fun, engaging group of like-minded nurses, but you can support your clinical ladder advancement, certification hours, and build your resume!

In the words of Florence Nightingale, “Let us never consider ourselves finished nurses…we must be learning all of our lives.”  Be bold and celebrate the amazing, thankless work you do every day!  Wishing each one of you a Happy Nurses Week!

With extreme gratitude,

Chanda Hassemer, MS, RN, CPAN, CPN

2022-2023 RMPANA President

“Live life when you have it.  Life is a splendid gift…There is nothing small about it.”  ~ Florence Nightingale
