It is with great pleasure that I can announce that Alicia Weaver will be stepping into the Region 6 CAT role effective July 1, 2024.  Alicia has been involved with AACN, Region 6 and the North East Georgia chapter for many years.  Most recently she has served as the chair of the Region 6 Planning Committe through the pandemic years and heading into our first conference since 2019.  Alicia is a staff RN in a cardiovascular unit at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marrietta Ga.  Her unit received their Silver Beacon award this past year.  The hospital and Alicia's unit are also part of the AACN Healthy Work Environment Collaborative, which includes 46 hospitals nationwide.  The collaborative will be focused on implementation of the HWE standards in 3 units in each hospital over the next 2 years.  I was honored to join Alicia, Megan Brunson (AACN Past President), April Mangum (NE Georgia Chapter President) and "Florence" for a Nurses's week presentation on HWE this past week.
