If advocacy is a current or developing interest, you may be interested in the following actions you may take as a HPNA member.

  • Check out HPNA’s short course on advocacy, Grassroots Guide: Advocacy and Influence. Whether you are looking to brush up on your knowledge of Congress and the legislative process, learn the history of hospice legislation, or find out how to get more involved in public policy and advocacy, this 30-minute course is available for free. Complete it and receive .5 NCPD hours.
  • Visit the HPNA National website for information on the additional ways you can inform and empower your legislative advocacy.   https://www.advancingexpertcare.org/get-involved/advocacy/
  • Consider local membership, to strengthen advocacy connections on a local basis. There is an opportunity to join with our peers in Arizona Nurses Assn (AzNA-AZ chapter of ANA) in championing advocacy issues at the state level. The date of the 2025 Nurses at the Capitol Day will be set later this year. We will keep you posted.

If you are a current HPNA member, thank you for your membership! Not a member? Consider full HPNA membership, by becoming both a local and national member. Each offers complimentary benefits. Any questions, please contact  Deb Bershad at dbershad360@gmail.com
