The value of this Advanced Practice Registered Nurse can’t be overstated. Many hospitals in California and around the country maintain the Magnet designation certification of excellence through the direct work of the CNS. Through the CNSs’ expert knowledge of research, the newest theories are brought to the practice of our nurses. And, when registered nurses seek higher education, CNSs act as mentors and associate professors in universities and colleges.
