The Carol Blakeman Clinical Excellence Award was established in 2013 by the Marion County Nurses Association in Carol's name to honor both her years (decades) of service to nursing education AND to our professional association. Her steady support for the Florida Nurses Association, the Student Nurses Association, and to our local FNA3/Marion County Nurses Association was crucial to each of these organizations. She is well known in this community as one who touched the lives of hundreds of nursing students, and for inspiring integrity and excellence in practice.

Fund Name:        Carol Blakeman Clinical Excellence Award

One student is selected from each graduating class by the faculty to receive this merit award. With her recent death on June 25, 2025, I ask you to consider a contribution to the award in her name. Currently, the fund is modest, and the monetary award is approximately $500. With your help, the amount of the award will increase. Excellence deserves to be recognized and rewarded.
