This presentation will cover the basic framework for understanding the principles of the recognition, evaluation, and control of Legionella in various water systems from the perspective of the industrial hygienist's role. An overview of technical strategies for environmental exposure and risk assessment will be provided as well as discussion of data collection and interpretation in support of environmental source identification. Actual case studies will be reviewed for purposes of demonstration and to assist in achievement of learning objectives.
